We begin our tour with an overnight, non-stop flight to Paris, France. Dinner will be served onboard the plane. D

This morning, before our arrival, we will be served a breakfast snack onboard the plane. Upon our arrival into PARIS, we will collect our luggage, pass through customs formalities, and meet our motorcoach driver and guide. We will enjoy a Panoramic Tour of Paris, and have an opportunity to drive past the Eiffel Tower, Arch de Triumph, Notre Dame, the Champs Elysees, the Louvre Museum and other recognizable sights. We will check into our first-class hotel and there will be a brief orientation before everyone is free to enjoy the remainder of the day at your leisure. B

This morning, following breakfast, there will be a little time to shop and relax. Later in the morning, we will drive to our first-class cruise ship, the River Baroness*, where we will check in and stay for the next seven nights. Cabin accommodations are divided into three categories and our price includes the lowest category on the ship. Tonight we will all enjoy dinner together and settle in for a good night sleep. B, D

This morning, following breakfast, our cruise ship docks in LES ANDELYS. There will be an opportunity to see the Cheateau Gaillard, Sainte Clotilde Miracululous Springs and the half timbered house and belfry of la Madeleine. Todays featured excursion is to Richard’s Lion Castle. Our ship will sail to the town of ROUEN later in the day. B, L, D

Following breakfast this morning, we will visit ROUEN. We will take you to the stunning gothic cathedral of Rouen, painted so vividly by Monet, the haunting medieval quarter with its half-timbered, glazed tiled houses, and the Gros Horloge, a Renaissance clock tower that arches overhead. The walk ends at Vieux Marche, where Joan of Arc was punished for her defiance. Our ship will remain docked over night. B, L, D

Spend the day at the location where one of the most famous days in recent world history took place—the beaches at Normandy—site of the D-Day Invasion by the Allied forces during World War II. The Invasion of Normandy holds the distinction of being history’s largest amphibious combat operation. You’ll visit the American Cemetery at Colleville, the allied landing sites at Omaha beach, the battlefield of Pointe du Hoc and Mulberry Harbor at Arromanches, all haunting reminders of freedom hard fought for. Following a hearty breakfast, we travel overland to Honfleur, a charming French harbor town favored by artists such as Gustave Courbet and Claude Monet. Go on a walking tour from the former smuggler’s harbor of Vieux Bassin—the most often painted scene in Honfleur where the fishing village backdrop is seemingly unchanged from over 100 years ago—through the pedestrian streets to the medieval town center. Irresistible Optional Tour: Extend your Honfleur excursion with a visit to a family-owned country estate producing cider and Calvados brandy in Normandy’s charming countryside we will enjoy sightseeing in the town of CAUDEBEC. Today, following breakfast, we will enjoy the town of VERNON. Visit Monet’s home in his beloved village of Giverny, where he lived for 43 years, until his death in 1926. You’ll explore Monet’s house, furnished as it was when the leader of the Impressionist school lived here, including his precious collection of Japanese engravings. Strolling the gardens, you’ll see the familiar Japanese bridge and water garden shaded by weeping willows, with its pond still full of water lilies that so inspired this master’s work.

Irresistible Optional Tour: Visit the stunning palace and gardens at Versailles, the official residence of the kings and queens of France from 1682 until 1790 *Giverny will be closed Mondays. Today we have a day of sightseeing or enjoying the day at your leisure. Use the ship as you would a hotel, and feel free to come and go as you please, because it will stay docked all day and night. Meals will be served at the usual times. B, L, D

We begin our city tour with a drive up the grand boulevard Champs Elysées and past the Arc de Triumph. We’ll stop for a photo opportunity at the Eiffel Tower before continuing to Place Vendome, Hotel de Ville, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Latin Quarter. We’ll then go to Les Invalides, the Louvre courtyard and the Luxembourg Gardens, where we will see a slice of daily Parisian life—gentleman playing boules and children sailing boats on the glassy pond— as well as view Bartholdi’s model for the Statue of Liberty. As an optional tour this evening we will enjoy illuminated cruise through Paris in the evening

This morning, following breakfast, we pack our luggage and disembark from the River Baroness and transfer to the airport. We will fly non-stop and arrive back into the United States in the late afternoon. B
