Travel with quilt television personality, Alex Anderson and Sew Many Places founder Jim West as they take you on this weekend getaway in one of the most beautiful areas of the country. For four days of relaxation, fun and shopping with fellow quilters from around the country!

We begin our Jim West QuiltAway Program - Napa and Sonoma Wine Country with an orientation meeting in the lobby of our Deluxe Hotel. We will enjoy a glass of wine as Jim West welcomes everyone and introduces our very special guest- Alex Anderson. Jim will talk about “Traveling with a Quilter’s Eye,” and also provide some photography tips during his welcome. We will enjoy dinner together in a nearby restaurant, and return to our hotel for a relaxing evening and good night sleep. D
Friday, June 4thThis morning following a delicious breakfast at our hotel, we will all gather for a meeting with Alex, who will provide for the group, a special quilt project to work on throughout the weekend. We will finish midmorning, and then board our private motor coach for a drive to meet the Napa Valley Wine Train. We will board the Vista Dome Car, a 1952 Pullman domed rail car, and enjoy an incredible 4-course lunch and glass of California sparkling wine.
We will experience unmatched views of the beautiful NAPA VALLEY, as we enjoy our delicious lunch. There will be an opportunity to sample other wines at a minimum charge while on board the train.
When we finish our lunch, and we are back at the station, we will be met by our motor coach driver who will bring us to downtown Napa. Here we will have an opportunity for shopping and enjoying the afternoon at your leisure. Tonight we will enjoy dinner and relax at our hotel. B, L, D
This morning, following a delicious breakfast, we will participate in a very special COOKING CLASS. We will put on our aprons, and enjoy this hands-on class, as we learn to make homemade dishes made from fresh local ingredients. In the afternoon, after you have enjoyed lunch on your own, we will visit two family owned wineries to see how they produce wines and operate their business. Later in the day, we will return to our hotel and Alex will share some fun information about her time oh Simply Quilts and also share some inside stories about The Quilt Show! It will be entertaining and fun! A very delicious “farewell dinner” will bring our time together to a close. B, D
Sunday, June 6thFollowing breakfast this morning, we will make arrangements so our group can have a late check out. Jim will be available at breakfast to talk more about the new Quiltposium Magazine and our upcoming tours, as well as share some of his fun travel stories. B
